About Breastfeeding Twins and Triplets UK

Breastfeeding Twins and Triplets UK was created by ABM Breastfeeding Counsellor and IBCLC Kathryn Stagg. Kathryn is a mum to four boys, identical twins and then two further singletons. She received such fantastic support with breastfeeding when the twins were babies that she decided to pay it forward and train as a breastfeeding peer supporter. This spurred a new found passion for supporting mums of twins and triplets to breastfeed their babies and fulfil, and even surpass, their feeding goals. She has volunteered locally in breastfeeding groups since 2006 and spearheaded a project of antenatal education and postnatal support for multiple mums. Kathryn continued her studies and qualified as a Breastfeeding Counsellor with Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM) in 2012 and on to the IBCLC exam in 2017.. She now volunteers on the National Breastfeeding Helpline and is one of the ABM’s Social Media Team. Since qualifying as an international Board Certified LactationConsultant, she has gone into private practice offering specialist breastfeeding support and antenatal education. Breastfeeding Twins and Triplets UK began life as a Facebook Group. Kathryn realised that there were no UK based Facebook groups specifically for mums of twins and triplets to access breastfeeding support. So one late night she created one. It was a huge success and over the first 18 months, it gained 1400 members and now has just tipped 3000. With the help of her dedicated admin team, the group offers non-judgemental, evidence-based support to mums of full term babies, to those born a bit early and to those who spend weeks and months in the neonatal unit. We have had incredible feedback from this group. Please request to join. Please answer all 3 joining questions.

The group has spurred a Facebook page, Twitter account and Instagram to help publicise the group and share breastfeeding news and views, and then this website featuring blogs about breastfeeding information, baby development and real-life experiences.

In 2020 Breastfeeding Twins and Triplets UK was accepted by the Charity Commission to become a registered charity, number 1187134. Please consider whether you can DONATE to our charity nd support our ongoing work.
